Apple Frangipane Tart

This recipe yields a pie of about 8 servings.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Blind-bake a 30 cm pie crust
  2. Spread the almond cream evenly over the bottom of the pie crust
  3. Arrange the apple slices on top of the almond cream
  4. Sprinkle the sugar on top of the apple slices
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for about 40 minutes or until the almond cream is set and the apple slices are golden brown at the edges
  6. Cover the edges of the pie crust with aluminum foil in case the pie crust gets too dark
  7. Carefully remove the tart from the pie pan and place on a wire rack to cool
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
